Disabled people, protest for status

The Blind and Paraplegic Associations of Albania protested against the
draft-law that aims to change their status, while the Parliament is
expected to pass it.

By challenging the difficult weather conditions, the disabled people have asked the MPs to not vote the draft-law that abolishes the rights that they have gained since 1996, when it was voted for the first time.

The changes consist of making the government the one to decide the reimbursement quantity for services that before were set by law. Compensation services such as heating and phone communication will be decided with Council of Ministers’ decisions, which has been rejected by the blind and paraplegic people.
