The Ministry of Justice ended one of the most important projects for the
transparency of the judiciary that guarantees not only information for
the public in real time, but also for their processes in courts. It also
offers a supervision of the entire system, all activities of judges.

The Minister of Justice, Eduart Halimi, declared that this digital portal brings some essential novelties for the justice system, the basis of which is the transparency of a system that has suffered from closed doors and the lack of public information, something that according to the domestic and international assessments helps to increase judicial corruption.

“By building the court portal we are securing today the transparency of every cell in the judicial system. We know that transparency does not completely eliminate corruption and justice, but we are convinced that we are on the right track, because transparency increases the responsibility of judges and other actors of the justice system. It decreases corruption, helps the citizens to identify those who avoid the law and it also helps the Ministry of Justice to start the procedures for asking their punishment”, Halimi declared.

For Berisha, the new digital portal realized for the 100th anniversary of independence, as one of the three best projects of the “Digital Albania” program is the most efficient connection between the citizens and the judges, bringing to light every decision taken within the judiciary walls.

According to Berisha, another important step for transparency would be the removal or limitation of immunities.

“By removing or limiting immunities, it will prevent the cases when the power is used for favors, for illegal enrichment”, Berisha declared.

The new digital system allows the Ministry of Justice to identify the online complaints for eventual injustices that the citizens will identify during the judicial processes. Based on the online inspection, the Ministry of Justice believes that this department, together with the High Council of Justice, has the opportunity to react faster for complaints about injustice, abuse and judicial corruption.

This new system will be the basis for assessing the judicial activity of judges, who will be scanned before getting a promotion.
