Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Party organized the Dialogue for the Future Forum in
Durres, where they discussed social cases and presented the opposition’s
vision as part of the program “For an Albanian Rebirth”.
Socialist leader Edi Rama declared that the economic assistance models and the fiscal policy of the current government have failed. He promised a new approach to these issues from the future Socialist government, by bringing a new model of economic assistance that is based on increasing employment.
“Less than 5% of the persons who have bank savings own half of the total wealth in Albania. We saw a polarization of the regions, and DP receives more votes where the poverty is deeper. Poverty is not an ally of the opposition. It’s a horse which the government has ridden through corruption and pressures that are easier there where there is poverty, and fear can be inseminated faster there where there is poverty. Today we have a 150 million EUR debt that has been distributed to the food shops. This is a debt that the poorest people owe to small businesses, the self-employed Albanians”, Rama declared.
