Dialogue between cultures and religions

The importance of dialogue is one of the themes that was treated
in the conference “Believers and non-believers in front of post-modern
society challenges”, held at the Philological-Historical Faculties in
the Tirana University, with the special participation of Cardinal
Gianfranco Revasi, academics, writers and students.

Cardinal Ravasi declared that the cultural mix has created phenomena such as fundamentalism and multiculturalism. So, which is the way to a peaceful coexistence?

“It is the interaction between cultures. A very difficult road is that of dialogue, watching the thoughts with reciprocity”, the Cardinal declared.

The cardinal concluded his speech with an oriental story of a man who was walking on a desert and saw from far a terrible beast, but while getting nearer he noticed that it wasn’t a beast, but a man. He thought that he might be a thief, but when he got nearer, it was his brother that he hadn’t seen for 20 years.

A very significant story that the Cardinal also told in the studio of “Wake Up”, in Top Channel.
