The Orthodox clergymen have taken by force the church they had built in the Palace of Culture premises in Permet.

Two Orthodox Church buses stopped today in the Permet main square. The clergymen with the help of other devotees went to the house of the House of Culture and clashed with the security officers of the Aulona private firm, who were guarding the object.

The clergymen used violence even against the police who were trying to guard the object by even using tear gas, but were outnumbered.

The clergyment entered the place where the church was while the guards kept being attacked outside, until the police arrived and stopped the violence against them.

Right after entering the church they started chanting religious songs in Albanian. After holding a mass, the devotees and priests refused to leave the church. The private guards received light wounds and some of the clergymen affected by the tear gas have received medical treatment.
