Commenting
on the decision of the Democratic Party candidate for Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, who refused the invitation of Top-Channel’s “Top Story”, Dervishi said that the presentation of the alternative by the
candidates is essential for the voters.

“Refusing
to debate is suicidal. The candidate is condemned to lose. It is unacceptable
that fter 10 years we are taking steps back. The local elections are for the public,
who will decide who to vote only by hearing the alternatives”, Dervishi
declared.

But
in Albania, according to him, there is the phenomenon of
politics blackmailing the media to use it for their interests.

“As
for the media, they have been surrendered to the politics. Our situation is
that instead of having the media blackmailing the politics, it is completely
the opposite”, Dervishi declared.

Dervishi
considers an electoral campaign that uses only videos that are pre-edited by
the political parties as totally unacceptable.

“The idea of the pre-edited
electoral videos is unacceptable, illogical, and has no sense in a democratic
system”, said the well known analyst of the Albanian press.
