Opposition’s DP Dashnor Sula has today defended the violent protest of the night before, saying that the people have many reasons to demonstrate, and mentioning the difficult situation of pensioners, who according to him “were trampled by the majority since the start of the Parliamentary season “.
“In Kosovo, pensions were increased by 20%, while in Albania by 4%. For those who still have doubts on what they the priorities of this government, they should wake up for a moment from this dream and read what is happening in Kosovo”, wrote Sula.
“So, dear parents, dear grandparents, and you, the children of the grandchildren of these parents: Kosovo, which has approximately twice less than Albania’s Gross Domestic Product, increases pensions 5 times more.
“Meanwhile, I want to recall that the pensioners were trampled by this majority since the start of the Parliamentary season, but the government gathered urgently to give hundreds of millions of euros to some of its business clients, who receive money from citizens’ taxes.
“Pensioners, administration employees, police officers themselves have 1001 reasons to protest against this government.
“I want to close with the significant expression for the current Albanian reality: “A people that sleeps in democracy, wakes up in a dictatorship”, concluded the post MP Sula.
