Zabit, Hilmi and Agim Deda, the three brothers of Hekuran Deda, the protester who was killed in front of the Prime Minister’s office on 21 January 2011, have reported at the Prosecution the National Guard soldier, Fatos Skeja, for failing to report a crime and for obstructing justice from finding the truth.
During the report, the Deda brothers have retold their story, when National Guard Skeja asked them to receive a visit of the Prime Minister at their home, in exchange of the photo of the man who killed their brother.
In the report it is said that after paying the visit of courtesy for their brother’s death, the National Guard has declared that he wanted them to receive a visit of the Prime Minister, without cameras or media rumors.
In exchange they were promised to receive a sum of money that the National Guard officer had in his car, and the name and photo of their brother’s killer.
The brothers specify in their report that the National Guard soldier has tried for one hour and a half to convince them to accept his offer.
They claim that regardless the many refusals, Skeja did not move from the house. The National Guard officer told them that he was staying at the Prime Minister’s Office terrace on January 21st and that he had seen where the bullet had come from, and that he knew who had killed Hekuran Deda.
According to Deda’s brothers, their relative Behar Spahia had agreed to bring the National Guard soldier to meet them, and they had told him to leave their house.
The brothers say on the report that after 30 minutes, they had called their relative and told him that they would never sell their brother.
The report was made only on February 2012, because they were expecting the Prosecution to call them about this event. The Deda Brothers close their report with the hope that the Prosecution would not investigate only this penal act, but all crimes related with the killing of their brother.
