Democratic Party experts are working in order to have the constitutional amendments and decriminalization process bill ready in the first days of September.
Top Channel learned that as soon as the package will be ready, it will be presented to the parliamentarian commission, in order to ensure, as democrats say, that Albanian politics and public administration to be cleared of persons with criminal records.
At the end of July, DP published its own decriminalization platform, based on Venice Commission Report and e similar process done in Italy against the Mafia, but added some topics to adapt to Albanian environment.
The package includes also the idea to expel from public duties persons who have been banned from foreign countries for alleged involvement in criminal activity, such as drug and human beings trafficking. If the package passes in the parliamentarian commission, it shoves the way to constitutional changes that immediately interrupt MPs and public administration officials mandate, if they have criminal records in Albania or abroad.
