The former Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, declared that there’s
no mechanism that can dismantle a commission voted by the Albanian
Parliament. Berisha said this is an ugly act that has killed the trust,
something that according to Berisha has been done only by Edi Rama, who
wants crime in Parliament.
The Decriminalization Commission was to discuss the project of the opposition for the decriminalization process, but the majority brought a draft in parallel, which made them put in question the existence of the commission.
Rama answered to Berisha by saying that the Commission will be undone because it has not done anything.
“We dismantled a commission that has not done anything. Those meetings were simply propaganda”, Rama declared, and told the opposition Parliament Members that they will work together to make the law closer to the Severino law.
“But I haven’t expected you to accept a joint product. There is a DP draft and an initiative of the government, and the process enters the normal path of confronting documents. We are ready to confront everything within the acceptable frameworks, but not things made up by the opposition”, the Prime Minister declared.
He accused the DP of trying to delay things, and said that the majority is determined to vote the law and that the basis for consensus is wider than ever.
