Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future While CEZ Distribution has officially admitted that they cannot fulfil
the conditions set by the Energy Regulation Entity, sources at ERE say
for Top Channel that the company has entered the licence revoking
process.
After reviewing the claims from CEZ, ERE planned the final report that based on the law will be public one month after the deadline, on January 20th.
CEZ had a 30-day deadline, during which they were to reflect on the situation and fulfil the conditions set by ERE, such as starting to import power; hand over the financial balance audited for 2011 and stop the efforts for collective power interruption and for normalizing the financial balances.
By the end of this deadline the claimed they could not fulfil the conditions due to the difficult financial situation created by Albanian authorities, which have frozen their bank accounts.
In the letter sent to ERE, the company mentioned the massive fines and claims that the court verdicts have always been against them, bringing CEZ to a financial collapse.
Recently the Company has been accused by the Minister of Economy and Energy, who blamed CEZ for the power interruption and declared that despite the imports by the government, CEZ has not realized the promised investments and the lack of infrastructure has caused blackouts.
