Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Security Commission finally gathered in a meeting where the
opposition members insisted for a Parliamentary supervision at the
Ministry of Defense.
MP Bizhga gave a harsh reaction against a CD with songs and dances from Tropoja, Gramshi and other areas of our country, a production of the Cultural Center of the Army, and a gift for the MPs from the Ministry of Defense. MP Pirro Lutaj went even further by declaring a withdrawal from the cooperation with the majority.
“We received a disk with folk songs and dances, served by the Ministry of Defense, while they should serve us serious documents for doing our duty”, Bizhga declared.
“I don’t know how we can continue our job and cooperation with each other, if we don’t implement this decision taken on legal basis, based on the Constitution, the Parliament Regulation and the Commission’s Decision”, Lutaj declared.
The Head of the Commission gave the same answer, that the supervision will be carried out without a physical control at the Ministry.
“We have fulfilled only one of the eight points. Let us cooperate to realize them, and when ready, we can invited the Ministry of Defense here”, declared Chairman Leonard Demi.
The Socialists demanded a presentation with the new Secret Service leader and raised question about him, asking an interpellation with the Interior Minister for the serious criminal situation in the country.
“This person has an Albanian or Canadian citizenship? We don’t have this information if this person had demanded political or economic asylum. How did the Secret Service find him and what is his future agenda”, declared the Socialist MP, Xhemal Qefalia.
