
The residents of Corfino, a small town in Abruzzo, are creating problems
with their protests for the transfer to San Pelini relicts to Albania,
planned to be sent on March 3rd.
Since the Saint originated fro Durres, the bust and his relicts were supposed to be sent at the Sapa Diochesis, or Zadrima, as it is widely known. But the residents are trying everything to stop the transfer of the relicts.
Besides meeting the local authorities and Church representatives, they have sent a petition to the Holy See in which the ask the cancellation of any transfer, showing this way a strong connection with the saint.
San Pelini was born in 620, Durres, and was Bishop of Brindisi. He became a martyr at the town of Corfinio, Abruzzo, on 5 December 662. The biography of this saint showed that he had 85 wounds in his body. He is depicted as a man with strong character and spirit.
The transfer of the relicts is suspended for the moment.
