The Executive Director of EUROPOL, Catherine de Bolle, asked the Albanian law-enforcing agencies to use more EUROPOL instruments to improve their capacities.
During a meeting in Netherlands with the Albanian Interior Minister, Fatmir Xhafaj, De Bolle spoke about accelerating the legal procedures which allow a contact officer for Europol in Albania, adding that the same thing will be done with other Western Balkan countries.
“Albania is an important partner for us, due to the geographic position, and EUROPOL will keep contributing with security matters. Our relations with Albania remain a priority”, De Bolle said.
She underlined that the agreement between Albania and EUROPOL, signed in 2013, needs to be updated and improved with new concepts and priorities.
