
Bulqize miners’ hunger strike reached its eighth day and their health conditions have deteriorated.
The of owner the Austrian Decometal company, also owner of the Albanian ACR Company, Mrs. Skatsche Depisch, asked the mineworkers to accept dialogue and end the strike. She notes that the company has approved the request of a 20% wage increase for 700 mineworkers, and in a few days they will build the wardrobe and showers building.
In her press release, the owner of Decometal underlines that the wages of Decometal mineworkers are the highest in the region. The representative of this company declared that many companies that work in Bulqize mines have had their licenses suspended by the Ministry of Energy.
ACR: Miners to quit protest
ACR representatives appealed mineworkers to quit their strike and start working, by expressing their readiness for talks with the protesters.
ACR emphasized that they agreed to increase wages at 20%, as initially demanded by the mineworkers, and for improving working conditions. But the miners increased their request to 40%.
Meanwhile, the miners are continuing their 14th day of hunger strike in the underground galleries, and their health condition is deteriorating.
