Danger fro uninspected gas cylinders

The tragic event that shocked the public this Sunday in Tirana, when
three members of a family lost their lives due to a fire caused by
cooking gas explosion, leaving the 35 year old couple and their four
year old daughter dead, with the firefighters being able to save only
their four-year old daughter in critical conditions, have brought to
attention once again the security of gas cylinders.
Technical experts specified that the Spahiu family apartment had a gas leak, and an electric contact has caused the explosion. For avoiding similar tragedies in the future, the head of the Central Technical Inspectorate in Tirana, Ardian Alushi, asked the citizens to not fill their gas cylinders in gas stations or shops that sell them illegally, because they offer no technical control.
If gas smell can be felt indoors, all windows should be immediately opened and no matches or lamps should be lit. The inspectorate cooperates with the local administration and has fined subjects where gas is sold without the required parameters.
In these days when the citizens have increased gas consumption in their homes, the authorities ask them to buy gas only in licensed companies that offer technical check.
