Dajti challenges justice

The Court of Serious Crimes addressed to the highest justice structures
for unblocking the trial against Dritan Dajti and his cooperators that
have been accused of killing four police agents.

“For the 13th consequent time, the trial against these defendants was postponed due to the absence of the defensive lawyers who were chosen by the defendants and who were set by the Court”, the Court declaration emphasizes.

According to them, the process against the defendants started on 11 December 2009 and despite the court’s efforts for ending the process in a reasonable time, it was impossible to be achieved, due to the intentional absences of the defensive lawyers.

The Court underlies that they have notified the National Chamber of Lawyers, the Ministry of Defense and other high instances, so that they can take measures against the lawyers that undermine the judicial process.

“The absence of the defensive lawyers is a challenge for such cases that have caused the murder of four police agents, which is a damage of the Court’s integrity”, the declaration underlined.

For this reason, the Court of Serious Crimes reacted once again for unblocking the situation, by asking the Chamber of Lawyers in Tirana, to take measures and review the Court’s complains for the lawyers’ behavior and start disciplinary measures for the lawyers of this process that act against the law.
