The Serbian Prime Minister, Ivica Dacic, declared from Skopje that he
will not allow Albanians to provoke Serbia with memorials about UCPMB
fighters, whom he called once again terrorists.

“Serbia is not a banana republic, but it has its laws. It’s like having an Al Qaeda memorial in New York, or in Spain a memorial of their terrorist groups. The Presheva memorial cannot be considered differently than a provocation to Serbia. There are 22 memorials of the KLA and UCPMB in Presheva, and the state has stayed silent, until they decided to place that memorial in the town centre, in front of the commune”, Dacic declared.

Asked when the Presheva Albanians would enjoy equal rights with the Kosovo Serbs, Dacic declared that the Albanian leaders are the ones who do not want to discuss about this topic, because they fear the reaction of the international community.

“Don’t ask me about the rights here or there. You know what I am committed to do as regards Kosovo and Metiohija. I can address to the Albanian leaders and they don’t want to discuss about this matter. They don’t want to mention the issue of these territories, because they fear the western reaction”, Dacic declared.

After meeting in Skopje with Prime Minister Nikolla Gruevski, he declared that the Serbian and Macedonian governments will hold the first meeting in Belgrade to discuss several topics regarding their mutual relations.

The visit of the Serbian Prime Minister in Macedonia came a few days after the UCPMB memorial was removed by the Serbian forces, which causes discontent among Albanains.

The Albanian parties’ representatives in the Macedonian government declared that his arrival at this time cannot be understood as a contribution in improving relations between Macedonia and Serbia.
