Cuts for government spending

A government law that will cut transportation spending for Parliament
Members and other officials has caused debates at the Parliamentary
Commission of Economy.

The budget saves 165 million ALL each year, and for the remaining months it will save 20 million ALL.

“This is a demagogy, trying to show that they are scarifying their commodities for saving money, but they are talking for just 20 million ALL for 2013”, declared the Democratic Party Parliament Member, Ridvan Bode.

“This saving that might seem ridiculous to you, might make it possible for a boat to patrol the waters, a police vehicle with more fuel. People know that the national security has been compromised by the irresponsibility of the fund administration made by your government”, declared the Socialist Party Parliament Member, Pjerin Ndreu.

Although in principal the Democrats were in favor of the law, they considered it ridiculous in a time when the government plans to spend 100% of the annual spending just in the beginning of the year.

“It is ridiculous to see 20 million at the Commission of Economy, while on the other hand they are ignoring the other spending”, Bode declared.

“The government’s administrative spending will not increase, especially now that they have been cut. The tables are public. Everyone can verify them for any Albanian”, declared the Chairman of the Commission, Erjon Brace.

The law has been approved with the votes of both parties in the Commission, besides the Democratic Party Parliament Member, Sherefedin Shehu, who voted against with the argument that the law damages the Parliament Members of remote ocations who do not have businesses, but live only by their Parliament wage.
