“As always in these years, even this year we will review our macro-economic framework, the objective for 2012 in accordance with the global economic developments, the regional economy and the concrete developments in the Albanian economy”, Bode declared.

The government predicted a 4.3% increase and 5% of public investments for the GDP. But are these statistics realistic, not that half of the year has passed by?

“These are concrete elements and in accordance with the current economic development, and with the perspective of the second semester, we could formulate a more consolidated objective”, Bode declared.

Does this mean that the economic growth will be reduced and that there will be expense cuts?

“Everything is possible. The Albanian economy is concrete and operates in a concrete region. What is to be greeted is the high dynamism in comparison with the other countries. We have a positive growth, when we know that the declarations for the Eurozone economy are in a fall” Bode declared.

Mr. Bode didn’t say which voices would be cut and what the measures would be, since it is not decided yet.

How to stop abuses of companies with the tax regime

Price transfer, a practice that is used by multi-national businesses for easing the burden of taxes, was the focus of a wide meeting of the International Financial Corporation in Tirana.

In this meeting with experts from several countries was discussed about the consequences of this phenomenon in the budget revenues of different countries and foreign investments. The companies that operate in several countries try to transfer the revenues in countries with lower taxes and the expenses in countries with a higher fiscal burden, in order to artificially reduce their profit and pay fewer taxes.

In a meeting with the Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, the experts proposed some ways or instruments for stopping this phenomenon.
