Crimes deriving from unemployment

The unemployment army provides the greatest number of people involved in
crimes. According to a report from the General Prosecution, the number
of unemployed people involved in crimes in 2012 is 8% higher than 2011.

8666 citizens in 2012 were taken as defendants for different crimes, and 5648 of them are unemployed. 2079 were arrested for robbery, a number that is increased with 35.61% since 2011. According to the Prosecution, most of them have also a very low level of education.

Unemployed citizens are also mostly involved in domestic crimes and abandonment of minors. From 285 people of this area, 105 were unemployed. However, according to the Prosecution, the lack of education is also a main factor.

The persons involved in murders have decreased with 9.96%. Those who work in the private sector are 46% more than in 2011.

2636 persons who work in the private sector are accused of illegal gambling activities, fraud, falsification and tax evasion.

People who are employed in the private sector are the ones who have committed more crimes against the state authorities.
