Albanian Ministry of Health appealed today (09.03.2021) to citizens to continue implementing the rules and restrictions for the prevention of COVID19, while adding that the process of anti-COVID vaccination continues in the concentrated vaccination centers throughout Albania.
In the last 24 hours, 3197 tests were performed, out of which 629 citizens tested positive for Covid-19.
Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 257 cases in Tirana, 48 cases in Shkodra, 24 cases in Lushnje, 22 cases in Librazhd, 21 cases in Durrës, 20 cases in Korça, 19 cases in Elbasan, 18 cases in Berat, 17 cases in Fier, and fewer in other districts.
Authorities added that 897 citizens have recovered in the last 24 hours, while 661 patients are being treated in hospitals, 43 of whom in intensive care.
Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 13 citizens lost the battle with COVID19: 3 citizens from Tirana, 2 citizens from Vlora, 1 citizen from Durrës, 1 citizen from Shkodra, 1 citizen from Fier, 1 citizen from Lushnja, 1 citizen from Përmeti , 1 citizen from Tepelena, 1 citizen from Librazhd, 1 citizen from Gramsh, all aged 57-85 years. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
