The number of victims of covid-19 virus has reached 16 and 277 persons are affected in Albania, announced today Rovena Daja from the Institute of Public Health.
“We inform that the field work to identify new cases and track contacts of confirmed positive cases is ongoing.
“This morning a 78-year-old patient from Durres, confirmed with COVID-19, passed away. The 78-year-old was in serious condition, intubated for 3 days and, despite the efforts of the medical staff, unfortunately failed to survive. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses condolences to the family of the deceased.
“So far there are 16 people who have died from COVID-19 in Albania.
“96 suspected cases have been tested in the last 24 hours, of which 18 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.
So far 277 cases of COVID-19 positive have been confirmed, of which only 8 are children. The average age of positive cases with COVID-19 is 50 years. The good news is that in the last 24 hours we have 9 cured patients bringing the number of COVID-19 recoveries to 76”, stated Daja.
