The Ministry of Health appealed today (13.02.2021) to the citizens to implement the rules for the prevention of COVID-19, by placing the protective mask in any environment outside the home, avoiding crowds, and maintaining physical distance.
They added that 3994 coronavirus tests were performed, out of which 1152 citizens tested positive.
Positive cases were identified in the following municipalities: 510 in Tirana, 143 cases in Durrës, 74 cases in Lushnje, 58 cases in Fier, 44 cases in Kavaja, 38 cases in Korça, 34 cases in Tepelena, 30 cases in Elbasan, 27 cases in Lezha, 26 cases in Librazhd, and in smaller numbers in other districts.
In the last 24 hours, 740 citizens have recovered, while in 4 COVID hospitals, 512 patients are being treated, 30 of them in intensive therapy.
Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 12 citizens lost the battle with COVID-19 in the hospitals; 7 citizens from Tirana, 1 citizen from Durrës, 1 citizen from Fier, 1 citizen from Gjirokastra, 1 citizen from Delvina, 1 citizen from Kolonja, all aged 58-86 years.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
