The number of infected with Covid-19 continues to remain high in Albania as the Ministry of Health announced today (Saturday, September 4) that in the last 24 hours, 984 new cases were detected and 4 citizens have lost their lives to the disease.
Out of 6113 tests performed, infections in municipalities were in these numbers: 294 cases in Tirana, 93 cases in Shkodra, 79 cases in Durrës, 49 cases in Berat, 37 cases in Vlora, 34 cases in Lushnje, 31 cases in Lezha, and fewer in other districts.
Currently, 106 patients are receiving treatment at the COVID Hospitals, of which 18 are in a more serious condition.
Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours four citizens lost the battle with COVID-19: a 62-year-old man from Durrës, a 64-year-old man from Lezha, a 69-year-old man from Tirana and a 72-year-old man from Shkodra.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expressed its condolences to the families. Authorities urge citizens to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves and the health of others. “If you suspect you are affected by COVID19 or have signs of illness, isolate yourself immediately and contact your family doctor,” authorities said.
