Albanian health authorities stated today (07.01.2021) that 3668 tests were performed, of which 697 people were confirmed positive with Covid-19.
The Ministry of Health appealed to citizens to limit contacts, adding that wearing a mask, maintaining personal hygiene and physical distance are the tools that everyone has in hand to keep away the dangerous virus.
Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 202 cases in Tirana, 55 in Durrës, 44 in Vlora, 39 in Shkodra,
33 in Lushnje, 26 in Berat, out of 22 cases in Fier, Dibër, out of 20 cases in Elbasan, Lezha, 19 in Kavaja, 18 cases in Mat, Saranda, 15 in Kurbin,
14 in Kuçova, 13 in Kruja, 10 in Gjirokastra, 9 cases in Kukës, Librazhd, Pogradec, 7 in Mirditë, 6 in Gramsh, out of 5 cases in Korçë, Divjakë, Klos,
4 cases each in Kamëz , Delvinë, Vau i Dejës, Vora, from 3 cases in Tropoja, Bulqiza, Peqin, Shijak, Skrapar, 2 cases each in Has, Rrogozhina, Përmet, Ura Vajgurore, Roskovec, Patos, Libohovë, Konispol, and 1 case each in Devoll, Mallakastër, Himara, Cerrik, Këlcyrë.
Currently in 4 COVID hospitals, 260 patients are being treated, 19 of whom are in intensive care.
Unfortunately, despite the efforts of doctors, 6 other citizens did not win the battle with COVID19: 2 men from Tirana, 1 man from Durrës, 1 man from Berat, 1 man from Elbasan and 1 man from Lezha, aged 57 to 84 years.
