The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appealed today (28.12.2020) to citizens to follow the rules during the end-of-year holidays to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Regarding the COVID-19situation in the country, they said that in the last 24 hours 1508 tests were performed and 318 citizens tested positive.
Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 134 cases in Tirana, 29 cases in Fier, 23 cases in Vlora, 17 cases in Saranda, 12 cases in Lushnje, 11 cases in Durres, 8 cases in Elbasan, 7 cases in Shkodra, Berat, Delvina, 6 cases in Mirdita, Mallakastra , Kamëz, 5 cases in Korçë, Mat, 4 cases in Has, Gjirokastër and Dibër, 3 cases in Krujë, Lezhë, Kavaja, 2 cases each in Rrogozhinë, Përmet, Tepelena, Divjakë, Gramsh, 1 case each in Kurbin, Tropojë, Bulqiza, Skrapar.
In the last 24 hours 557 citizens have recovered, bringing the number of cured to 32,122 since the beginning of the epidemic. Currently in 4 COVID hospitals, 296 patients are being treated, 21 of whom are in intensive care.
Unfortunately despite the efforts of doctors, 11 citizens did not win the battle with Covid19; 3 citizens from Tirana, 2 citizens from Durrës, 2 citizens from Peqini, 2 citizens from Fieri, 1 citizen from Saranda, 1 citizen from Elbasan aged 51-81. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
