Covid-19 update / 273 new cases and 5 losses of life in the last 24 hours

In a daily press release from the Ministry of Health it was announced that:

“In the last 24 hours of COVID19 in Albania: 1289 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, of which 273 citizens affected by the SARS-COV2 virus tested positive. 44 citizens have been cured, bringing to 10,001 the number of people cured in the country since the beginning of the epidemic.

“Positive cases confirmed in the last 24 hours have been identified in these municipalities:
192 cases in Tirana,
17 cases in Korça,
12 cases in Lezha,
10 cases in Gjirokastra,
8 cases in Shkodra,
7 cases in Saranda
5 cases in Kavaja,
4 cases in Durrës,
3 cases in Fier,
2 cases each in Kurbin, Kamza, Tepelena, Gramsh
1 case each in Lushnje, Mirditë, Mallakastër, Mat, Divjakë, Malësi e Madhe, Patos

“Currently in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and “Shefqet Ndroqi” 259 patients are being treated, 20 in intensive therapy of which 3 patients are intubated.

“In the last 24 hours, despite the efforts of doctors, unfortunately they have lost the battle with COVID-19, a 74 year old man from Durrës, a 76 year old man from Tirana, an 81 year old man from Rrogozhina, an 82 year old man from Shkodra, a 91 year old from Korça. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expressed its condolences to the families.
