CoVid-19 update/ 11 dead and 223 affected in Albania

The number of people infected with Covid-19 has risen to 223 in our country and the number of victims is now 11, according to the latest statistics of the Institute of Public Health.

Further on its daily statement it said:

“The field work to identify new cases and track the contacts of confirmed positive cases with the new coronavirus is ongoing. 90 suspected persons have been tested in the last 24 hours, of whom 11 have been confirmed with COVID-19.

“To date, 1526 suspected cases have been tested and 223 were confirmed positive with COVID-19. This morning a 79-year-old Tirana patient with COVID-19, died at the Infectious Disease Hospital. The 79-year-old with the initials B.H., was hospitalized for 18 days in the infectious hospital. The elderly man had shown improvement in recent days but died of a heart attack. The 79-year-old is thus the 11th victim affected by COVID-19 in Albania.

“There are currently 74 patients in the infectious diseases service. Of these, 7 are in intensive care, of which 4 intubated. The rest of the patients are in stable condition We have 4 patients recovered in the last 24 hours and so far we have 44 cured after their screening tests have proved negative”.
