Silva Bino from the Ministry of Health said today that unfortunately a 64-year-old patient has passed away from the decease in the last 24 hours.
She added:
Yesterday, 269 people suspected of COVID-19 were tested, of which 53 were health personnel, and 24 positive cases were confirmed, of which 6 were health personnel.
“Of the new cases, 12 were in Shkodra, 3 in Tirana, 3 in Kukës, 3 in Fier, 1 in Korça, 1 case in Kavaja, and Mallakastra is added to the map with 1 case.
“So far, 4827 suspected cases have been tested and of these, 518 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19.
This morning, a 64-year-old woman from Tirana, who had been intubated for more than 2 weeks, passed away. Hospitalized in “Shefqet Ndroqi” hospital, the patient’s health condition has deteriorated this morning and she suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. Despite the efforts of medical staff she was not able to survive. The 64-year-old had some concomitant diseases.
“To date, 26 citizens have lost the battle with the disease despite the efforts of medical staff.”
