The Albanian Ministry of Health addressed today (22.12.2020) again the citizens to limit the contacts, stay at home and avoid unnecessary movements in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Regarding the situation of the pandemic, the authorities said that in the last 24 hours, 2420 tests were performed, out of which 389 citizens tested positive.
Positive cases have been identified in these municipalities: 177 cases in Tirana, 20 in Elbasan, 19 in Durrës, 18 in Shkodra, 16 in Lezha, 13 in Kavaja, out of 11 cases in Lushnje, Saranda, 10 in Vlora, out of 8 cases in Berat, Gjirokastra, 6 in Fier, from 5 cases in Kruja, Korça, Bulqiza, Kuçova, Këlcyrë, from 4 cases in Mat, Përmet, Gramsh, from 3 cases in Rrogozhinë, Kamëz, Pogradec, Delvinë, Divjakë, Skrapar, from 2 cases in Mallakastër, Dibër, Kolonjë, from 1 case in Kurbin, Devoll, Librazhd, Tepelena, Ura Vajgurore, Belsh, Malësi e Madhe, Peqin, Klos, Shijak, Cerrik.
In the last 24 hours, 497 citizens have recovered, while in 4 COVID hospitals, 344 patients are being treated, 19 of whom are in intensive care.
Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours 13 citizens failed to win the battle with the disease in COVID hospitals: 5 citizens from Tirana, 2 citizens from Lezha, 2 citizens from Lushnja, 1 citizen from Vlora, 1 citizen from Kuçova, 1 citizen from Shkodra, 1 citizen 33 years old from Kukës with concomitant diseases, aged 33 to 81 years.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
