The Court of Appeals in Vlora has been closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, thus marking the closure of the justice system in both levels in this city.
The cause was the infection of a judge which suspended the activity.
The episode follows similar developments in the courts of Tirana and Durres.
The decision to close the court was taken by the Court Council. According to sources only one judge was infected and the court premises were immediately disinfected and all staff entered the quarantine.
The court in question has 6 judges, for whom the Council has decided to return to work on November 20, if they do not present health problems.
Earlier, it was theVlora district court that first closed its doors until November 11, after the infection of its 6 judges. In both levels of the judiciary in Vlora will now work only on emergency issues and assessment of detention measures.
