The Administrative Court of Athens ruled by considering as illegal the
suspension of the activity of 22 international transport lines that
connect Albania with Greece.

The news was published this Friday by the press office of this court. According to the verdict, which was taken unanimously, the decision for revoking the licenses is illegal and obliges the Greek Ministry of Transport to allow these companies to function normally until September 20th, when the companies are obliged to bring documents that assess that they have implemented the Greek passenger transportation law.

The Court also ordered Customs to allow the buses of these companies to start working. In another point of the decision, the court asked an investigation regarding the reports that were made public and which say that behind the decisions of the Greek government hide the interests of some Greek companies.

After the media pressure and the publishing of concerning facts regarding the future of this business, the Greek Transportation Ministry admitted that the decision for suspending the licenses was extreme and not based on the law.

The suspension of the 12 Greek companies and of their partners was taken yesterday. It blocked the Kakavija border checkpoint workflow for 24 hours and created great concerns for thousands of emigrants and tourists who chose this itinerary for their free movement.
