Countryman: Kosovo status is definitive

US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Thomas Countryman, declared that NATO and
EU integration is important for the entire Balkan region, and also the
main commitment of the US government.

“Kosovo status is definitive, same as its borders”, said Countryman during a press release regarding most recent developments in Balkan.

According to him, reopening the border issues could endanger the region, because it would only fuel up nationalist passions.

“There are no mono-ethnic states in the region, and we fully trust that these multiethnic societies will be part of NATO and EU in a near future”, Countryman added.
