Council of Europe statistics: “Albania, fifth for overpopulated prisons”

Albania was the fifth country in Europe with overpopulated prisons,
having 120 prisoners for 100 posts. Official figures come from the
annual criminal statistics of the Council of Europe.
The average throughout Europe was 94 people for 100 spots. According to these data, in 2013 there have been 110 prisoners for 100 spots.
The report says that Albania has been the country with the youngest age of prisoners, with an average from 26 to 33 years of age. 51.9% of the prisoners in Albania are part of this group age.
Statistics show that Albania has the highest percentage of prisoners for murder, including murder attempts, 39.4% in total. This percentage throughout Europe is 12%.
