The EU mediator for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Robert Cooper, will visit Prishtina and Belgrade soon.
The news comes from Kosovo media, according to which Cooper will try to organize the new dialogue round, after the one of 27 and 28 September failed.
Cooper declared that he discussed in Brussels with both parties about topics that should be discussed.
The dialogue round of 27 and 28 September failed due to Serbia’s persistence for discussing about the northern Kosovo situation.
The EU negotiator announced that the process was cancelled, declaring that it wasn’t predicted to discuss about the north.
“The dialogue was not held because the Serbian delegation was not ready to continue. The Northern Kosovo situation is not part of the dialogue or of any negotiation with Serbia”, Cooper declared.
“The dialogue will continue when the Serbian part will be ready to recommit. The goal of this process remains the discussion about issues that aim the improvement of the citizens’ life and the approach of both countries to the EU”, he added.
During this Wednesday, USA and EU expressed their support to the Kosovo government and their plan for extending its authority in northern Kosovo.
