The government has decided to establish a special structure for surveying the medicine prices in the market.
The Council of Minister authorized the establishment of the Medicine Price Commission, which will operate at the Health Ministry.
The Commission will be composed of Pharmaceutics specialists and those from the Ministry of Finances and Economy.
The Commission has the right to request detailed information from the pharmaceutics companies for the price of every medicine that they import.
The Commission will compare the prices with the neighboring country, which will serve as reference. After having them compared, the Commission will chose the cheapest price of these countries and based on that will determine the price for the domestic market.
The government has sanctioned that no company will be allowed to place a higher price than the reference price that has derived from the three neighboring countries.
