Contributing each day for integration

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, visited the town of Kavaja
where he attended the Electoral Covenant of the DP, Considering Kavaja
as the town where Albania’s European path had started, Basha expressed
gratitude for those who contributed with the candidate status, which,
according to Basha, should have been received two years ago.

“Gratitude and respect for the public administration, the political leadership of the DP, for the government of Sali Berisha who signed the Stabilization Association agreement in 2006, who completed the questionnaire and handed over the membership request on April 2009, who signed the visa free regime in December 2010. Certainly, we would have wanted to receive the candidate status earlier, two years ago, when it was recommended for the first time, but yesterday’s opposition had another agenda, unfortunately”, Basha declared.

The next challenge, according to the DP leader, is opening the negotiations. “Europe reminded the majority that the dialogue with the opposition is a decisive factor, although the majority is trying with arrogance to concentrate all the power on its hands. We will do everything for the European Albania, but we will not allow and will never accept the violations of standards and European norms. We are building and will build the European standard by starting it from our home, by electing our leaders through vote, by raising and uniting our good weill for the battles, challenges and victories that await us ahead”, Basha declared.
