The Socialist MP, Mimoza Hafizi, presented a list with 10 names of MPs
from the left and from the right who support a constitutional amend that
allows the President to be elected by the people.
“A president elected by the people and not the parliament will be independent from politics and a unification figure for the people in its important constitutional duties”, the initiative says.
The second amend is about giving people the right to change the Constitution. This amend can be made only if there are 94 votes in parliament.
The initiative says politicians are discussing about justice reform, but it is impossible for the people to be part of this process.
The initiative has been signed by MPs: Arta Dade, Mimoza Hafizi, Ben Blushi and has the support of Agron Duka, Dashamir Shehi, Eduard Selami, Luljeta Arapi, Nard Ndoka, Tahir Muhedini and Vangjel Dule.
