The Supreme State Audit declared that the Durres Port concession was a
corruptive affair that has caused a 16,9 million EUR damage.
Through an audit that includes the 2010-2013 period, the Supreme State Audit has found that the Port Concession procedures and the implementation of agreements with the private operators were done against the law.
As result, according to the HCJ, the concessionary agreements do not defend the country’s interest, as regards the exploitation of the Port Authority territories. The division of revenues from port operations are not in the country’s interest neither.
For all the verified violations, the HCJ has filed a lawsuit against the former General Director of the Durres Port Authority, together with four other high-rank officials of this institution, and four employees of the Ministry of Transportation.
The HCJ has recommended 18 measures for recovering the 16,9 million EUR damage done to the Albanian government.
