The Tirana Municipality met the 7 competing architectural studios that
presented their projects for the expansion of Tirana’s Main Boulevard
towards Paskuqan.

The Tirana Mayor, Lulzim Basha, underlined that the participating firms are very prestigious, and he valued the voluminous projects that they presented.

“Today is an extraordinary day for the city, since we are gathered here to see the projects that would make jealous every capital of the region and Europe”, Basha declared.

The Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who was present in this process, declared that the project of the new boulevard shows a historical beginning for the capital.

“The government will support the projects, regardless the partial colors”, Berisha declared, mentioning in his speech that the former Mayor, Edi Rama, failed with Tirana’s Urban projects.

The studios come from Germany, England, Italy, Holland and have carried out many famous projects throughout the world. The boulevard will be expanded with 1.7 kilometers, while the river rehabilitation length is 6.7 km.

The winner will be chosen by the jury led by Mayor Lulzim Basha and composed of Albanian and international distinguished architecture names.

Head of Socialist Municipal Councilors reacts

Even today, he didn’t find the courage to apologize to the former administration and the well-known companies from Denmark and Belgium for the giant “Skenderbej Square” project and the Big Mosque, or to apologize to the Netherland taxpayers who financed the Tirana Regulation plan, in which was included this expansion of the boulevard that they are turning into a political victory.
