Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future Focusing on the fact that the Socialist Party will try to return
legitimacy to the Albanian institutions, the Opposition leader, Edi
Rama, made a novelty proposition regarding their depolarization.
The Socialist leader proposed the establishment of an ad hoc commission made of MPs and Civil Society members for reviewing and selecting the candidacies for the Ombudsman, inviting in this process even common citizens that fulfill the criteria.
“Every citizen who has the necessary education, experience and ambition for undertaking the Ombudsman mission, is invited to knock on the Socialist Party’s door and will receive our support.
We don’t wand a Socialist Party Ombudsman that receives orders from the party, but someone from the people, to advocate the people under the Constitutional order. We are ready to support the Albanians who have this ambition and that will fulfill the criteria”, Rama declared.
The Socialist leader appealed the international community to react on what he called a mafia act towards the opposition’s elected councilors in many municipalities, such as Fier and Gjirokaster, who are facing threats for going on the other side with their vote. According to Rama, these acts are seriously affecting the consensus between parties.
Another point that the opposition leader mentioned during the Parliamentary Group meeting was the great number of sentences against the Socialist MPs after sued by the Democratic MPs. Rama says that the justice is occupied by the ruling party, and it infringes not only their opposition rights, but the country’s Constitution itself.
“I guarantee every servile that is ready to destroy anyone without power to fill his dirty pockets, that the Albanian justice will be brought in a near future, by liberating the judicial system from indecent judges who have left their sins behind in unjust decisions and seals upon thousands of common and innocent Albanians, who are victims of their injustices”, Rama declared.
The opposition leader also asked immediate measures for protecting the Albanians from the financial storm that is expected to sweep Albania during the next year, due to the incapability and corruption of the government.
