
In the first meeting of the Parliamentary Commission that is
investigating the activities of the vice Chairman of the High Council of
Justice, Kreshnik Spahiu, was approved today its composition.
The Commission that is led by the MP of the ruling party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, will have as chairman the secretary Paulina Hoti.
As previously declared in Parliament, the opposition did not participate in this meeting that according to them violates the Constitution, the law and the Parliamentary Practice, and who declared that the majority’s request is forced.
“This Commission’s goal is not to address to the individual and his activity, but to verify the existence of facts and circumstances claimed by the group that initiated it. The Chairman of the Commission, is tasked to collect the facts by Wednesday, and what has served as encouragement for the creation and motivation of the request for his discharge”, Alibeaj declared.
In full accordance with the Parliamentary Commission laws, Mr. Alibeaj declared that they would send a written request to Kreshnik Spahiu for testifying when he will feel ready.
This Commission will continue its activity for three weeks. In the next meeting that will be held on Wednesday, they will establish the preliminary investigation plan, and when this investigation will be over, they will send the report to the Parliament. The request of 33 Democratic Party MPs for investigating Spahiu’s activity was firstly confirmed by the Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, in the Parliamentary Group meeting of his party.
With only the majority’s votes, this investigative Commission took the green light on January 26th.
Spahiu reacted by saying that he will prepare the material for addressing to the Constitutional Court, requesting only the annulations of this Commission as anti-constitutional.
