Veterans and representatives of the border police gathered in a commemoration ceremony, the victims of the Peshkepia Massacre, which took place 25 years ago.

On April 10th, 1994, Greek terrorists attacked the border checkpoint and killed solider Arsen Gjini and captain Fatmir Shehu. They wounded other effectives who were caught by surprise and stole the armament during the withdrawal.

Fiqiri Shehu, the brother of the border checkpoint commander, once again demanded for the aggressors to be brought to justice.

The Patriotic Association signed a petition addressed to the Interior Ministry, asking them to name the Peshkepia border checkpoint after the martyrs.

Witnesses say the aggressors were eight and that they used Greek military equipment in the attack. The suspects were arrested one year later, but they were released by the Greek authorities for lack of evidence.
