In Shkoder was commemorated today the anticommunist Hungarian revolution
of 1956. There ceremony had the presence of the Hungarian ambassador in
our country, Antal Heirez.
The reason why this revolution was commemorated, is because it also affected the city of Shkoder with anti-communist movements.
The Ambassador spoke about the importance of this revolution in overthrowing the communist regime. When asked by journalists about the tension that was created after the football match between Serbia and Albania, the Hungarian ambassador declared that Hungaria has had conflicts with neighbors in the past but that were resolved. He said that he doesn’t expect further problems between Albania and Serbia, since their destination is the EU.
The ceremony continued with a presentation of doctor Klit Hoti as consul of honor of Hungary in Albania.
