The former Director of the Treasury Branch, Dorian Collaku, will be
detained together with the nine other suspects until trial, as decided
by Judge Fida Osmani.
Collaku declared once again that he has nothing to say, and that he is preserving the right to talk to another moment. He is suspected by Judge Ramadan Troci that with his actions or failure to act, he has enabled the theft of 713 million ALL in the Bank of Albania.
The Prosecution says that he should have suggested a regulation for the sector where the theft took place.
‘He is a suspect just because of his position. We will insist for his innocence”, declared Ramiz Billa, his lawyer.
The Prosecution has shed light on other investigations that put in question the functionality of some institutions during these years, including the Secret Service and the State Police.
Six of the suspects have a Level C security clearance, including Ardian Bitraj, who received it in 2011, while according to his confession he has started stealing the money in 2010.
During this time, no one has ever tried to make any verification.
