Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Prosecution demanded 18 years in prison for a man accused of
international drug traffic. 200 kg of cocaine were melted with palm oil,
which arrived in Albania from Greece and that was being followed by the
Interpol.
The Prosecution of Serious Crimes asked 18 years to prison for the only defendant Dhmitros Vullnet Harizaj, for the biggest traffic of cocaine from Columbia, Albania and then Europe. They added that Harizaj also had collaborators that have not been identified yet.
The Prosecution mentioned the surveillance tapes of the Spanish authorities, when an unknown person of southern American accent communicated through the name Juan Carillos, saying that they had found an Albanian who was ready to do “that favor” to them, insinuating the transportation of cocaine.
The Prosecutor explained that the biggest quantity of cocaine that came from Columbia and that was melted in African palm oil was blocked in Belgium, while the operation has continued with the container filled of water, and a GPS that showed the final destination of the load, by also revealing the one who ordered it.
