Cleaning Albania in one day

Thousands of volunteers from different countries of the world joined the
movement “Let’s clean the world”, with the participation of millions of
citizens in their respective states, gathering to clean their
country in one day.

Albania is one of the countries that need such a movement maybe more than many others, and thanks to the involvement of the “Green Line” organization, this day will happen even in Albania.

The organization has started raising public awareness for voluntary participation, and the symbolic day is May 9 2012, the Day of Europe.

The surprise of the “Green Line” Organization, whose project is supported by the Slovenian Embassy, is the well-known Slovenian MEP, Tanya Fayon. She will be Albania’s Ambassador for the movement “Let’s clean Albania in one day”.

Fayon participated in this movement when it was applied in her country, and found the participation of more than 200.000 Slovenian citizens.

“This action was received extremely good by the Slovenians, and we not only cleaned the country in one day, but we were unified as a nation by doing something good for all of us. This is sharing responsibilities for everyone, old and young. Show to Europe and the World that Albania can become a clean country”, declared Tanya Fayon.

The Albanian government also joined this movement. The Minister of Environment, Fatmir Mediu, declared that this can be considered as the awakening of the Albanian society.

May 9th is considered as the day to clean Albania in one day, and it coincides with the start of the tourist season in Albania.

However, this project, together with other movements, is an appeal that starts since today. And even if we will not be there to clean our environment, at least we should not pollute it.
