Civil Society: Far from EU for women’s rights

Albania is still far from the EU recommendations as regards the women’s
rights, as declared by the well known writer, Elvira Fones, during a
conference for the sex equality.
Referring to the recent domestic crime cases, which have taken the life of young women, Dones appealed the women to demand their rights and change the mentality, so that they will not be simple obedient soldiers in a family.
On the other hand, she asked the help of Albanian intellectual men to protect the women’s rights, and support their feminist movements.
The well known writer appealed for more representation of women in all areas, not only in politics, saying that Albania is still far from the European family in which we want to be part of.
In this conference was also present the EU ambassador, Ettore Sequi.
