Chrome Mafia in Bulqize

07/05/2012 00:00

The Socialist Party filed at the Parliament a request for an urgent
interpellation of Prime Minister Berisha for the Bulqize chrome scandal.

Seven Socialist MPs have initiated the interpellation request, based on the public reports of the Diber Chief of Police, Shemsi Prenci.

This is why the opposition MPs initiated this interpellation with the Albanian Prime Minister:

“We appeal the Prime Minister to answer about the implementation of the legislation, the concessionary agreement for the chrome exploitation in Bulqize, the exploitation of the chrome mines in general, the public accusations for law violation and chrome smuggling, the abusive exploitation of the mining wealth and the high danger that this situation presents for the life of the miners and residents in the implicated areas, and also for the future of the country”.

The return of the chrome issue in Parliament will be followed by a strong debate between the opposition and majority MPs.

A few days ago, the former Chief of Diber Police resigned and accused the government that they have left the chrome mines to the mafia, part of which is the state police.
